Great service.
Really good fresh food. Loved the interesting curries. Really fast service and smiley staff!
This is absolutely one of the best place to eat in the area. Anytime I go there I am deeply pleased. They maintain their high standard service and the topmost level of meals they give. You definitely will enjoy this this restaurant. Highly recommended.
Great food and service. Quality food and well decorated restaurant with a great atmosphere. The fried banana and ice cream desert was great. Will be back!
Salute is a regular haunt for us. The food is great - Plenty of vegetarian dishes - the atmosphere is elevated - harbor views are entertaining and the owner is amazing to say the least. Menbere Aklilu, the owner, is from Ethiopia. She is profoundly grateful to be alive and living in Richmond. The staff she hires and trains are..
We were in town after traveling awhile and my husband went out to find a niice vegetable and meat dish. What cost 12 dollars was a big container of bland rice(no seasonings or sauce) shaved chicken prices very sparce and small cut frozen vegetables you buy in frozen section at the store. I imagined there would be fresh vegetables and some kind of seasoning or sauce. It was not worth 12 dollars
Amazing pad Thai!
Mediocre at best. The curry was watery and there are raisins in the salad. Who does that? Will not return.
Bomb tasty food. Beautiful location. Prompt and efficient servers. Tasty selection. Parking can be hit or miss, street parking only. Highly recommend.
Nice place for a spot of shore leave. Prices are decent.
We've been going there for many years and have never been disappointed.
Today we’re my last time here!! Good taste but A little expensive: order to go.Got wrong item, this is the second time, I pay 18 dollars for curry with potatoes and bell peppers!! Missing prawns, three items plus Thai ice tea= 51.00 🙀 no way. No receive only credit car Boucher .So you don’t know your pice for each item. 👎🏻
Great food 👌
We came here for a group work lunch. I don't know why it isn't highly rated. Great interior and service. Food was good too! I would definitely come back. The curries all looked so good, I wish I would have gotten one of those instead of my Salmon but that was pretty good too. The salad that came at the start was pretty good too, good dressing.
First time there we had Mango Paradise. Fabulous! Second time, prawn soup and lamb. Not so fabulous. Bland city.
The food were not that great. I ordered red curry beef and the meat has a strange game taste to it. Eventually it made me sick after eating their food. On top of that, they over charged me for the food I ordered. Because they didn't tell me about the rice. Last but not least, their customer service kinda sucks. I don't think they like black people in their place. It wasn't the best warm welcome I got from them. I won't recommend going to this place ever again. Abandon all hope if you go. But again goodluck.
Yummy and so fun! Took my friend for a treat! Crab fried rice, Pumpkin curry with pork and a salmon dish. All were exquisite!
First time to eat here. Food was flavorful with generous portions. Service was attentive but not intrusive. I had a coconut curry noodle dish with cilantro, lime, mushrooms. My wife had pad Thai with chicken. We had spring rolls and fried tofu as an appetizer. Each of the dishes served were good values and thoroughly enjoyed by both of us. Recommend.
Very good i will make this my #1 to goto thai food super friendly customer service..
Not what I was expecting. Not by a long shot. Typically when you go to a small place like this you expect something to come up short. But the staff was courteous, the menu well rounded, the portions were of good size and the price was much lower than I expected. Even the decor nicely reflected the fusion of turn of the century building re-use and well, a Thai restaurant.
Awful!! I never had such a bad green/ yellow curry dish, the chicken meat, had very gamey smell almost as close as to the oder of decomposition. The curry was foamy when it was served, which I have never encountered in all the years of enjoying Thai food. We each had 1.5 bites of the our curry and we could not stomach anymore, so the bowls were full of curry and the waiter never even bother to ask if something was wrong with the food after we declined the to go boxes.
Very good Thai food! Great atmosphere and decor
Really good Thai food in a clean and nicely decorated restaurant.
The Khao Soi was fantastic. Looking forward to returning
Fast lunch service, clean all around, cozy atmosphere. Thai food is one of my favorites..especially the dishes with curry. The wait staff are exceptional and are always welcoming. Parking in the area is not easy and there is really no overflow parking, but if you don't mind a little walking, this restaurant is worth it.
Very kind, accommodating staff. Tastefully decorated. Satisfying food. Loved the chicken satay (and pickled cucumbers!).
Love this place. Really good food and the people that work here are nice. Penang beef and sticky rice my favorite.
Comfortable, tasty, generous portions, not noisy, and reasonable prices.
We came for my husband's birthday. There were 6 of us and we were promptly seated at the one large table they have for a party of six. We had a great view of the beautiful kitchen and the rotisserie.
ROACHES!!! a co-worker and I were sitting in the back of the restaurant, next to the KITCHEN, and on the wall there was a small bug that freaked me out, but I just squished with my napkin, then no more than 10 minutes later here comes this HUMUNGOUS ROACH crawling up the wall next to our table! Of course we freaked out and told the waitress in the front and she merely said "oh no"! WHAT? just "oh no"? AND THEN as we were telling the waitress in the front the waiter rudely bumped into me almost knocking me over! Excuse me for being inconsiderate for letting you know, and the rest of the people dining there that you have a roach problem! I let the baby bug go because it could have easily come from outside, BUT i am NOT letting a ROACH go without me saying something! for there to be roaches means that the overall environment is DISGUSTING! I will say that the food is to die for, but not so much to die for a ROACH! never coming back again!!!!
Excellent ambiance and delicious food.
Nice spot in west Richmond. Good menu. Clean food. Great service!
Excellent food but price is a bit high. Also no smiles but friendly service. interesting place. 😆
Yum Yum Yum, need I say more...
Best experience I've ever had in a resturant. Strongly recomend the jumbo prawn and bbq pork. If you get an appetizer, get the fried calamari, it's amazing. And the roti for desert
Worst Thai food ever!
Good food. Reasonably priced. Lots of choices. Good service.
Very good food and service. It's a little on the pricey side for lunch, but it's great food and wonderful service. Lunch special is $15, so it's not that pricey, but more than what I usually pay for lunch.
Visiting family in the area we stopped at Kao Sarn for dinner early on a Sunday evening. We didn't know what to expect and were very pleasantly surprised. All dishes were delicious and generously served. Service was very attentive - water glasses refilled often, requests for wine/beer responded to quickly. After a shared starter of their 'fresh rolls', we enjoyed several dishes including eggplant with vegetables and pork (in a delicious sauce), pad thai, fried rice with crab, and pumpkin curry. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, this restaurant is an excellent choice.
Excellent service and food.
Came here on a quiet Saturday night, the place is 10% full but the waitress was in a big rush, did not take our full order before she flew away, forgot one dish we ordered (we only ordered 2). And the food was only edible, the duck was not fresh (it smells badly).
Amazing!!!
There were 4 of us, and we all enjoyed our food. Service was very good and they let us visit for along time without acting as if we were a bother. We Will all return hear again.
Delicious Thai food. Would recommend the chicken cashew
Great food reasonable price
Great lunch combo spot! Gluten free options
The meals and service were beyond my expectations. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of this spot. Superb place to take the family out for lunch.
It's a small place with just a few tables. The kra-praw was delicious - just the right amount of heat from the chili. And the Kao Sarn was really yummy - the pumpkin and curry especially tasty. We all really enjoyed the Pad See Ew. The BBQ chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the Pineapple fried rice with chicken was fabulous. However, the pad thai was just so-so. Overall, we would definitely go again!!

Love this place and enjoy coming to the bay so I can plan a stop in for delicious food and wonderful service.
